Kreate brings Vegie Delights and Stephanie Rice to the Vegie-table

Kreate is pleased to be working with Australian plant-based food brand Vegie Delights (part of the Life Health Foods group) to launch a Summer campaign which is all about Aussies getting together, having BBQ's and sharing food - no matter what their dietary preferences are!

We've created a Summer Entertaining Guide curated by Australian Olympic Gold Medalist, Entrepeuner and 98% vegan Stephanie Rice, which is an inspirational compilation of delicious plant-based recipes and creative tips and tricks on how to make entertaining easy, healthy and more sustainable this summer.

As part World Vegan Month (November) and the month long campaign, we will also run 3 activations, popping up summer BBQ's at the following location:

  • Sunday 10 November, Newtown Festival, Sydney

  • Sunday 17 November, Sydney Vegan Markets, Moore Park

  • Sunday 24 November, River Terrace, Federation Square, Melbourne

Stephanie Rice will be making a special appearance, inviting Melburnians to JOIN OUR VEGIE-TABLE on Sunday 24 November at our Melbourne pop-up.

MEDIA RELEASE – NOVEMBER 6, 2019

STEPHANIE RICE AND VEGIE DELIGHTS TEAM UP TO INSPIRE AUSTRALIANS TO ADD MORE PLANT-BASED FOOD OPTIONS WHEN HOSTING FAMILY AND FRIENDS THIS SUMMER

Olympic Gold Medalist and Entrepreneur Stephanie Rice is inviting Australians to ‘JOIN THE VEGIE-TABLE’ this summer. The campaign in collaboration with plant-based food brand Vegie Delights encourages people to consider including more vegie options when hosting their next BBQ, picnic or backyard party.

New research shows that 42 percent of Australians are now reducing their meat consumption, or eating no meat at all, evidence of the increasing popularity and interest in plant-based eating.*

One-third (32%) of Australians (more than ten million people) are either Flexitarians or Meat-Reducers –actively limiting their consumption of meat – while another 10% of Australians are Vegetarians and Vegans, eating no meat at all.

Whilst there is a lot of good intention and willingness to reduce meat intake, a question on a lot of people’s minds is ‘what do I serve my guests instead of the usual steak or meat snags?’; the plant-based movement being still quite new to a lot of Australians.

Based on her own love of plant-based food, Rice is excited to support the summer entertaining campaign with Vegie Delights.  “I love showing vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians and meat eaters alike how easy it is to entertain and include everyone.  I really want to help all Australians feel like they can host a fun and memorable summer party and cater to all their guests.”

With the rising popularity of plant-based eating, Australians are going to see a plethora of food preferences and choices this summer. Vegie Delights helps cater for all.

Included in the campaign is a Summer Entertaining Guide created by Vegie Delights, an inspirational compilation of delicious plant-based recipes and creative tips and tricks on how to make entertaining easy, healthy and more sustainable this summer.

Rice is thrilled to share her passion and knowledge of the benefits of a plant based diet, especially during World Vegan Month in November – and beyond.

“My hope by working on this campaign and guide, is to show people how easy and delicious it can be to eat plant based regardless of their food preferences.” says Rice.

After retiring from swimming, Rice turned to a plant-based diet and since feels she has regained her natural stride. Following a 98% vegan diet, Rice believes diet and health are linked to overall wellbeing and mental health.

“For me, a plant-based lifestyle works really well. I ’m certainly not saying that everyone has to be vegan, but I definitely encourage people to have more meat-free days and change that steak or sausage for a plant-based alternative. People may be surprised at just how good it tastes and makes them feel.”

General Manager of Life Health Foods, the manufacturer of Vegie Delights, Dean Epps, says Stephanie is an Aussie icon who shares a common outlook to their Australian company. “She’s just as passionate about the ‘plant-powered’ lifestyle as we are and radiates good health.”

To celebrate summer and the launch of the Summer Entertaining Guide, Vegie Delights will host three pop-up BBQ activations inviting consumers to ‘JOIN THEIR VEGIE-TABLE’.

Consumers will be able to attend each activation and taste delicious samples of Vegie Delights products at the following locations:

Sunday 10th November Newtown Festival, Camperdown Memorial Park

Sunday 17th November Sydney Vegan Market, the Entertainment Centre, Moore Park

Sunday 24th November, River Terrace, Federation Square, Melbourne

Rice will make a special appearance at the Melbourne activation on November 24th and will be available for interviews and picture opportunities.
