do you celebrate mid-autumn festival?

‘Mid-Autumn…in mid-Spring?’ we hear you say! Well yes, known as the mid-Autumn festival, or Zhongqiu Jie in Mandarin, it’s also known as the Mooncake Festival or the Moon Festival and is traditionally held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunisolar year. Because of this, in Australia we celebrate it in what is our Springtime. Worth noting that it’s also celebrated across Asian cultures including as Chuseok in Korean, Tsukimi in Japan, Tet Trung Thu in Vietnam and Bon Om Touk in Cambodia.

This year as the Festival fell on the AFL Grand Final Weekend in Melbourne, JLL briefed Kreate to once again bring some festivities to life at their central Melbourne shopping centre 206 Bourke Street.

Taking place over the weekend from Friday to Sunday our activities included a Lantern Wall, Vending Machine, cultural entertainment and lantern making classes.
