De Kuyper Winter Domes - InterContinental Sydney Double Bay and Crystalbrook Kingsley newcastle
Winter can be a quieter, slower season in hospitality - shorter days, colder nights, and fewer reasons for guests to linger. De Kuyper engaged Kreate to help shift that mood, using winter as an opportunity to create warmth, atmosphere, and moments worth staying for across two hotel destinations: InterContinental Hotel Double Bay and Crystalbrook Kingsley in Newcastle.
The brief was simple: create a winter experience without over-styling the spaces or compromising their premium, relaxed feel. The activation needed to feel seasonal and special, while staying comfortable and inviting. Kreate's response was the Winter Domes - intimate spaces designed to encourage guests to slow down and settle in for the ultimate cosy vibes.
The creative concept drew inspiration from luxury ski chalets and the quiet beauty of winter. A refined palette of whites, icy blues, soft greys, silver, and frosted gold set the tone. Eucalyptus became a key design reference, its silvery leaves and delicate blossoms translated into décor throughout the domes - adding a subtle, distinctly Australian touch.
Inside each dome, the focus was on warmth and atmosphere. Soft lighting cast a gentle glow across the winter palette, while a central decorated tree anchored the space. Tables were styled with understated seasonal details, and chairs were layered with fur throws, inviting guests to sit back and stay a while.
